An integrated Direct Debit solution to improve customer retention and increase sales.

EZFacility provides web-based scheduling, billing, member management and reporting tools for sports and fitness businesses of any size, including gyms, health clubs and various sports facilities. EZFacility was established in 2003 and has its head office in New York.

The challenge facing EZFacility

With no integrated Direct Debit solution for their 350+ UK and 2000+ US customers, they discovered over time that they were steadily losing clients to competitors that did have an integrated payment platform. The system they were using involved taking individual card payments, which was inefficient, costly and rather clunky.

They quickly realised that a Direct Debit solution was vital, so two years ago they partnered with London & Zurich.

The solution

We worked with EZFacility to design and implement a Direct Debit solution that would allow them to seamlessly collect and process customer payments.

As part of our initial consultation process, we sat down with the development team at EZFacility to map out exactly what was required of the new platform. This helped to ensure specific user requirements were not just within scope, but factored in from the outset as fundamental project deliverables.

With the platform successfully built and delivered in good time, it was then a case of testing the system thoroughly prior to deployment. We remained in close contact with EZFacility’s development team throughout the process to ensure the integration was completed correctly and have since assigned a dedicated client account manager to EZFacility for ongoing support.

The result

EZFacility operates in a very competitive industry, with a fairly high attrition rate. We’re pleased to report that since implementing our integrated Direct Debit solution, they’re increasingly finding that clients very rarely cancel their subscriptions. We believe improved customer retention is one of the main benefits of Direct Debit payment solutions, so it’s great to see this proven once again.
